Beyond Text

Description: For Notre Dame graduates to be fully literate, they must be able to ”read and write” the language of media. This session will begin with an overview of the importance of images, sound, and video in communication. Panelists from several disciplines will then describe how students create media in their courses. The session will end with information on how to start developing your own activities.
Learning Goals:

After successfully completing this workshop you will be able to:

  • list several activities where students create media.
  • identify a possible student media creation assignment in your discipline.
  • locate help for designing a task where students produce media.
