This workshop is devoted to the interviewing process for academic jobs. Tips for a good interview will be presented, and faculty from various departments will provide general advice and recommendations based on their own experiences. While the general interviewing process will be discussed, there will be time for individual questions and concerns, either in an open-forum or one-on-one format.

Learning Goals:

After successfully completing this workshop you will be able to:

  • know what to expect and how to prepare for telephone interviews.
  • identify what prospective interviewers look for.
  • identify effective techniques and know expectations for on-site interviews.
