Leading a Discussion as a International Teaching Assistant

Description:

Successful classroom discussions involve more than just asking questions and letting students answer. This workshop will concentrate on techniques for promoting constructive discussion and keeping students on track. Topics will include preparing effectively, asking the right types of questions, keeping students engaged, and managing student responses. A panel of experienced international teaching assistants and faculty will address these issues from the perspective of a non-native English speaker.
