"Liking" Matters: How Can I Improve How Students Evaluate Me?

Description:

This workshop draws from psychological research conducted on teachers who get very favorable ratings from their students. This workshop will describe the traits of these teachers and the behaviors they engage in that increase how much their students like them, how much the students learn, and how the students rate their teachers' effectiveness.

Learning Goals:

After successfully completing this workshop you will be able to:

  • identify teaching techniques and behaviors that appeal to students.
  • understand how these traits can foster student learning.
