Mentoring Undergraduate Researchers

Description:

Mentoring guidelines from a variety of sources including the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) will be presented and discussed in this workshop. In addition, faculty panelists will describe experiences they have had mentoring undergraduates and answer questions from participants.

  • be able to describe basic mentoring strategies
  • consider how these strategies might enhance their mentoring
  • explore ideas to involve undergraduates in research in their disciplines
