Alex Oxner specializes in issues of equity, diversity, and access in higher education. She works with instructors to implement inclusive teaching strategies in their pedagogy and to centralize student identities within the classroom. Through the Kaneb Center, she holds consultations with instructors and leads faculty development initiatives across campus. Her research focuses on gender and sexuality studies, racial justice, community engaged teaching and learning, and feminist pedagogy. She is also invested in online learning and educational technologies as platforms for innovative pedagogy.
Before coming to Notre Dame, Alex earned her PhD in English from Vanderbilt University (2019) and then taught writing and rhetoric courses full-time at Nashville State Community College. Her current literary interests involve manifestations of supernaturalism and spiritualism in texts by transnational women writers.
