Monica is a PhD candidate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences, specializing in the field of structural wind engineering. Her dissertation involves the use of machine learning techniques to understand the effect of wind on tall buildings. She has served as a Teaching Assistant at Notre Dame for four semesters. She is interested in introducing the design thinking approach to a classroom setting and conducting workshops on ‘Design Thinking for Educators’ to familiarize Notre Dame faculties and TAs to this revolutionary concept that can make the learning experience truly student-centered.
