Classroom Observation Forms
These forms provide examples of the kinds of behaviors that might be looked for during classroom observations. We have divided them into categories focused on specific teaching strategies although we recommend being ready to observe all of these strategies during a given observation.
- Observation Form from Temple University (general items and lecture, discussion, and group work sections) – adopted by Kaneb Center for Collagorative Reflection observations
- Observation Form from University of Liecester (briefing by observee, observation, and action items sections)
In addition to recording behaviors and making notes, it can be useful to diagram the classroom dynamic.
