Forrest Spence is an assistant professor of the practice in the Department of Economics. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina – Columbia in 2009 and his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in 2015. His research is in applied microeconomics and has been published in the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization.
Prof. Spence teaches principles of microeconomics and intermediate microeconomic theory at the undergraduate level and serves as an academic advisor. He also coordinates the International Economics major senior research projects during the Spring semester of each academic year. Prof. Spence was awarded the Thomas P. Madden award in 2018 for outstanding classroom teaching in a first-year course.
