Alternatives to Traditional Grading

This panel discussion will explore alternatives to one of the most seemingly foundational elements of our teaching: traditional grading. The session will feature Notre Dame instructors from across disciplines who will share their recent experiences with alternative grading practices like contract grading, specifications grading, or ungrading. The second half of the session will be devoted to a conversation between panelists and audience members. The event is open to any graduate student, postdoc, or faculty member who would like to learn more about assessment alternatives or share their own experiences with nontraditional grading practices.
