Fostering Student Motivation through Instruction

In this interactive workshop, participants will learn about the major principles of student motivation as suggested by theories of academic motivation. We will collaborate in groups to discuss how to integrate these motivational principles into instruction, applying the ideas to both lecture and seminar/lab contexts. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own motivational issues and brainstorm solutions with fellow teachers in their area of expertise.
