Grading and What Works

According to Ken Bain, author of What the Best College Teachers Do, “Testing and grading…[are] powerful aspects of education that have an enormous influence on the entire enterprise of helping and encouraging students to learn” (p. 150). This workshop will provide techniques for providing evaluation that achieves learning goals and allows opportunities for progress.

  • (based on empirical evidence), articulate what types of courses, assignments, and grading practices lend themselves to good feedback scores.
